The 13th National Congress of the China Democratic League was held Dec. 21-23 in Beijing.

Ding Xuexiang, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Director of the General Office of the Central Committee, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a congratulatory speech on behalf of the CPC Central Committee. The Congress carefully organized and studied the spirit of the 20th National Congress, listened to and deliberated on the report of the work of the 12th Central Committee of the CNDL, etc., and successfully completed all the agendas, electing a new Central Committee consisting of 275 members.

Mr. Liu Ming

Mr. Liu Ming attended the congress and was elected as a member of the Central Committee of the China Democratic League. The China Democratic League is mainly composed of senior and middle-ranking intellectuals engaged in culture and education as well as related scientific and technological fields, with a total of 346,000 members nationwide. The elected members of the Central Committee are mostly academicians, representatives of science, technology, culture and education industries.

At the closing ceremony of the conference, President Ding Zhongli pointed out that under the scientific guidance of Xi Jinping's Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, the 13th Central Committee and its leadership team of the Democratic League will be able to unite and lead all comrades of the League to excel in their work, and to show even greater performance of the League in the historical process of comprehensively advancing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation by means of Chinese-style modernization.
