On January 8th, the forum of “The Righteousness and Innovation of Graduate Legal Education in the New Era” and the appointment ceremony of the external tutor for the graduate students of the School of Law of Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU) were successfully held in BFSU. Ms. Liang Yali, senior partner of King&Capital Law Firm and director of King&Capital Criminal Defense Research Center, was reappointed as the external tutor for master's degree students of the School of Law of Beijing Foreign Studies University for a period of three years.
This forum aims to discuss the development path of graduate education in law in the context of the new era, and how to better cultivate legal talents with international vision, innovative spirit and practical ability. The leaders of the Law School of Beijing Foreign Studies University, representatives from academia, practice, teachers and students of the university attended this meeting.
Appointment Letter of Attorney Yali Liang
Wang Weifang, Secretary of the General Party Branch of the Law School of BFSU, delivered a welcoming speech, expressing his warm welcome and heartfelt thanks to all the attending guests. He pointed out that the Law School has made remarkable progress in the past few years in terms of the number of students, the faculty and the development of disciplines. The achievements of the Law School are attributed to the joint efforts of external mentors, who play an important role in students' academic, internship and career development.
In his keynote speech, Dean Miliang of Beiwai Law School pointed out that the school will continue to deeply cultivate the field of law, actively respond to the needs of the development of the rule of law in the country, and strive to cultivate more law professionals with international competitiveness. Through the cooperation with external mentors, further promote the deep integration of internal and external resources, create a new glory in the cultivation of rule of law talents, and contribute more wisdom and strength to the vigorous development of China's rule of law cause.
Afterwards, Dean Miliang and Vice Dean Yan Dong awarded the appointment letters to the newly appointed external tutors, and Secretary Wang Weifang and Prof. Wang Wenhua awarded the appointment letters to the renewed external tutors. The appointed external tutors come from government departments, law firms and legal departments of enterprises and institutions, and have rich practical experience and academic attainments. They will provide more abundant and diversified academic guidance and practical support for the graduate students of the School of Law and help them develop comprehensively.

Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU) School of Law was founded in 2006, and in 2019, the Law Program of BFSU was selected as one of the first batch of national first-class undergraduate program construction sites.
