At 19:00 on March 22, the 11th “King&Capital Cup” Criminal Mock Trial Competition training session was held in the second staircase classroom of Haidian Campus of China University of Political Science and Law, which was hosted by the Party Committee of the School of Criminal Justice of the University of Political Science and Law of China and co-organized by Beijing King&Capital Law Firm. This training will be a “front stop” for the criminal mock court, Beijing King&Capital Law Firm, Meng Fan, Zang Desheng lawyers, Beijing Changping District People's Procuratorate Qu Lei prosecutor came to the campus, for the scene of more than 200 students of the University of Law carried out a comprehensive and detailed courtroom defense skills and paperwork writing training.

At the beginning of the training session, Prosecutor Qu Lei elaborated on the practical skills of reading case files and writing documents for public prosecutors, comprehensively introduced the purpose and tasks of public prosecutors' court appearances, the basic principles and basic requirements, and focused on sharing the skills of public prosecutors' court appearances and the common problems of court appearances, which deepened students' understanding of the identity of the prosecutors and the tasks they are responsible for.

Based on the perspective of a defender, Ms. Meng Fan shared her experience before and during the trial from another angle. She talked in detail about the skills of reviewing and organizing the defense plan, as well as the trial strategy of the defense side, the standard of writing documents and the skills of court defense. As a senior lawyer with experience in prosecutorial work, Meng emphasized the importance of convincing people with reason, upholding legal principles, listing evidence, focusing on logic, and integrating heavenly principles, national laws and human feelings in the courtroom, so as to convince the judge.

Mr. Zang Desheng is a senior lawyer representative with trial experience. Based on his own defense work and experience as a judge, he talked about several key points of trial defense, including: clear idea of defense, good arrangement of division of labor, proper questioning in court, targeted proof and evidence, brilliant court debates and focus on court etiquette, which helped the students master the practical methods of defense based on their pain points.

After the sharing session, the students on the spot actively interacted with the three guests, who answered the questions raised by the students seriously and meticulously.
