On June 20, 2024, the first law firm interactive seminar of Criminal Professional Committee of Beijing Chaoyang District Lawyers' Association in 2024 was held in King&Capital Law Firm, which focused on the criminal defense practice in the context of the Amendment (XII) to the Criminal Law - legal application of bribery crimes. Deputy Supervisor of Chaoyang Lawyers Association Xiao Shuwei, Director of Criminal Specialized Committee Zhao Chunyu, Secretary General An Hongpeng, and a number of members and lawyers of many law firms attended the seminar, which was presided over by Senior Partner of King&Capital Law Firm and member of the Management Committee Xu Ying.
“I feel that criminal practice is highly specialized and demanding for lawyers, so the exchange of seminars for lawyers, especially the study and research of new regulations, I think is very necessary.” Xiao Shuwei, deputy supervisor of the District Bar Association, first thanked the members of the Criminal Practice Committee of the Chaoyang Law Association and all the fellow lawyers for attending the seminar. He talked about the research results of the Criminal Practice Research Committee of Chaoyang Lawyers Association, which gathered the wisdom of criminal practice of Chaoyang lawyers and promoted the improvement of lawyers' practice level, and hoped that the attending colleagues could achieve consensus and form the results through this seminar, which would be helpful to the lawyers' profession.
In this seminar, Song Zhenyu, a member of the Criminal Committee of the District Lawyers' Association and a consultant of Beijing Dacheng Law Firm, Feng Chengcheng, a senior partner of Gaopeng Law Firm, Pan Yi, a lawyer of Beijing Shengchi Law Firm, Jiang Baoshuang, the deputy director of Zhongdun's Job-related Crimes Research Center and deputy director of Zhongdun Law Firm's Criminal Committee, and Wang Feng, a senior partner of Beijing Dacheng Law Firm, made keynote speeches on the topic of the seminar.
Mr. Zhang Qiming, senior partner of Beijing King&Capital Law Firm, Mr. Zhang Yannan, partner of Beijing Qiancheng Law Firm, Mr. Sun Guangzhi, senior partner of Beijing King&Capital Law Firm, and Mr. Yan Huainan, partner of Beijing King&Capital Law Firm, were members of the Criminal Committee of the Lawyers' Association of the District and the four interlocutors shared their case experience, practical experience, and practical thinking. Mr. Zhang Qiming said that the seminar on active and passive bribery can help lawyers to sort out their previous knowledge and at the same time inspire them to handle related cases. Sun Guangzhi from the Criminal Law Amendment (XII) Law, on the application of the law, active and passive bribery root governance and constraints, to solve the problem of the way to put forward a few thoughts. Lawyer Yan Huainan discusses the breakthrough point of effective defense and the feasibility of criminal compliance with participating lawyers by combing the criminal policy of active and passive bribery.
Finally, Zhao Chunyu, Director of the Criminal Specialized Committee of Chaoyang District Lawyers Association, made a concluding speech.
