On 2 January 2025, the sixth ‘Qian Duan Sheng Salon of Political and Legal Thought’ was held at the China University of Political Science and Law. The meeting gathered nearly 30 experts and scholars from leaders of the Beijing Municipal Committee of the China Democratic League for Democracy and People's Livelihood, China University of Political Science and Law, state-owned enterprises and central enterprises, as well as law firms. Mr Liu Ming, Senior Partner of King&Capital, delivered a keynote speech entitled ‘Application of Commercial Arbitration in Business Environment’.

Based on the practice of the research topic of ‘Application of Civil and Commercial Arbitration in Optimising Business Environment’ which he is in charge of, combined with his working practice as an arbitrator of the Beijing Arbitration Commission and his rich experience in representing commercial arbitration cases in the past, Mr. Liu Ming shared his insightful views on the optimisation of business environment by commercial arbitration, the origin and concept of commercial arbitration, the nature of commercial arbitration, the role of commercial arbitration, and the role of commercial arbitration in the development of business environment. The nature of commercial arbitration, the scope of commercial arbitration, credibility assessment, ad hoc arbitration, good arbitration depends on the arbitrators, internationalisation of commercial arbitration and other issues.

After the meeting, Mr. Liu Ming gathered the wisdom of the Salon and based on the practical results of the ongoing research projects, such as ‘The Application of Civil and Commercial Arbitration in Optimising the Business Environment under the Background of the Construction of Beijing's “Two Districts”’, he discussed with the participants on the ‘Construction of an International Commercial Arbitration Centre’ and the ‘Construction of a Commercial Arbitration Centre’. The construction of the International Commercial Arbitration Centre’, together with the experts at the conference, formed a number of recommendations for transformation.
