At 9 a.m. on March 8, the second plenary session of the Third Session of the 14th National People's Congress was held in the Great Hall of the People.

Procurator General of the Supreme People's Procuratorate Ying Yong made a report on the work of the Supreme People's Procuratorate to the General Assembly.

The report shows that 2024 strengthened supervision of criminal trials. Put forward 6530 criminal counter-appeals, the court after the completion of the trial to change the sentence, sent back for retrial accounted for 75.6%. Among them, Hu, Liao was convicted of rape and has been complaining, the Supreme People's Procuratorate review that the original sentence is indeed wrong, according to the law, filed a protest, retrial to change the sentence of the two not guilty.

The case of 34 years, Beijing King&Capital Law Firm Jin Jie, Yang Wen, ZhangDengLong three lawyers pro bono representation of the complaint, after 7 years, insist on efforts not to give up, and ultimately by the supreme people's procuratorate filed a counter-appeal, re-trial and re-sentence of innocence.

The fact that the case was written into the work report of the Supreme Prosecutor shows that the case is typical, instructive and warning in China's judicial practice.
