On April 26, 2025, Niu Xingli and Wang Jiaming from King&Capital Law Firm, Zhang Lu from Beijing Shengchi Law Firm, and Zhao Hongchao from the First Prosecution Department of Beijing Changping District People's Procuratorate were invited to participate in the 12th “Kyoto Cup” Criminal Mock Trial Competition, which was sponsored by King&Capital Law Firm and hosted by the Student Union of the School of Criminal Justice of the China University of Political Science and Law, as the judges. “King&Capital Cup” Criminal Mock Trial Competition, the third round of the points competition.

Before the start of the competition, two lawyers from King&Capital Law Firm, together with prosecutors and lawyers from Soundwill Law Firm, arrived at the competition site in advance, carefully read the case file and the documents submitted by the teams, and gained a full understanding of the schedule and the basic case.

In the course of the competition, the judges and guests jointly formed a collegial panel, guiding the contestants to complete the “prosecution and defense”, “proof and cross-examination”, “court debate” and “trial summary”. “Summary of the trial” and ‘Final statement’ and other five links, and provide corresponding guidance; after the adjournment of the court, the panel retired, the judges and guests collective discussion, based on the scoring standards and court performance of the prosecution and the defense side of the detailed scoring, and ultimately assessed the winners Finally, the judges and guests evaluated the performance of the prosecution and the defense from their own experience in terms of standardization of documents, trial strategy, and business ability.

After the competition, the judges and guests answered all kinds of questions raised by the contestants and took a group photo.
