Mr. Tang Jianbin was invited by Beijing Technology and Business University to give a lecture on “Analysis of Common Legal Problems of Food and Drug Crimes”.

On June 6, 2025, invited by Beijing Technology and Business University (BTBU), Mr. Tang Jianbin, senior partner of Beijing King&Capital Law Firm and director of King&Capital Food and Drug Law Research Center, gave a lecture on “Analysis of Common Legal Problems of Food and Drug Crimes” at Liangxiang Campus of BTBU. The lecture was highly valued by the university and warmly welcomed by the students. Xu Yang, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Law School, and Chen Dun, Dean of the Law School, attended the lecture, which was hosted by Hu Bingzi, Vice Dean of the Law School.


Mr. Tang Jianbin, with his rich practical experience, combined with a large number of judicial cases, gave an in-depth explanation, providing professional guidance for understanding and dealing with the legal issues of food and drug crimes. The content of the lecture focused on “common legal issues of food and drug crimes”, mainly selected “production, sale of poisonous and harmful food crime” “production, sale of food that does not meet safety standards”. The four typical crimes of “production, sale and supply of counterfeit drugs” and “drug trafficking” are analyzed in depth with the elements of the crimes. Comprehensive use of interpretation of legal provisions, empirical analysis of cases, quantitative statistics and legal interpretation, focusing on the two new judicial interpretations in the field of food and drugs to carry out the discussion.

In addition, the lecture also combined with the characteristics of food and drug crimes, elaborated on the administrative subordinate characteristics of food and drug crimes, and emphasized that their criminal constitution is premised on the violation of administrative regulations. In view of the difficulties in delineating the boundaries between administrative violations and criminal offenses in the judicial determination of food and drug-related crimes, the seminar discussed in depth the key points of grasping the boundaries between the execution and punishment of food and drug crimes.


This lecture is the fifth in a series of lectures on “Legal Topics in Food Safety and Cosmetics Supervision”, which “breaks the traditional disciplinary boundaries and deeply integrates professional knowledge and legal practice”, integrates the knowledge of jurisprudence, food science, pharmacy, etc., and helps to analyze typical cases and difficult points of judicial practice through the analysis. By analyzing typical cases and difficulties in judicial practice, it helps students understand the application of legal provisions in actual scenarios, broaden their professional vision, and realize that the governance of food and drug crimes requires multidisciplinary synergy.


This lecture not only brought students professional knowledge from practical perspective, but also further strengthened the in-depth cooperation between King&Capital Food and Drug Research Center and Beijing Technology and Business University. In the future, both parties will further strengthen communication and cooperation, and jointly explore a new mode of combining legal education and practice.
