On September 13, 2025, on the occasion of the 2025 Annual Academic Conference of the Research Society of Legal Documentation of the China Law Society held at Tongji University, Liu Guiming, Vice President of the Research Society of Legal Documentation of the China Law Society, together with a group of lawyers including Mr. Liang Yali, a director of the Research Society, a senior partner of King&Capital Law Firm in Beijing, and a director of the Research Center of Criminal Defense of King&Capital Law Firm, were invited to visit the School of Law of Tongji University, and had a cordial exchange with the dean of the School of Law, Mr. Jiang Huiling. and exchanged views with Mr. Jiang Huiling, Dean of the School of Law.

At the beginning of the exchange, Dean Jiang Huiling personally led the visiting team to visit Tongji University School of Law and introduced in detail the development history of the School, discipline construction, faculty strength and talent cultivation achievements. From the important milestones since the founding of the School to the breakthroughs made in recent years in the research of legal theory, judicial practice and international exchanges, Dean Jiang Huiling's explanation enabled the visiting team to have a comprehensive and in-depth understanding of the school's operating characteristics and academic heritage of the School of Law of Tongji University.

It is noteworthy that the year 2025 coincides with the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Law School of Tongji University, and the 2025 Annual Academic Conference of the Research Society of Legal Documentation of the China Law Society is held in Tongji University. Liu Guiming, vice president of the Research Society of Legal Documentation of the China Law Society, pointed out in the exchange that the annual meeting and the 80th anniversary of the college's “double opportunity” not only provide a high-quality platform for academic seminars, but also marks a good start of the close cooperation between the Research Society and the School of Law of Tongji University, and is expected to carry out more academic research, talent training and other fields in the future. It is expected to carry out more in-depth linkage in academic research and talent cultivation in the future.
As a practical expert in the field of criminal defense, Ms. Liang Yali fully affirmed the achievements of Tongji University Law School in the field of legal education in the exchange, and expressed the willingness to deepen cooperation on behalf of King&Capital Law Firm. She said that King&Capital has accumulated rich practical experience in the fields of criminal defense, corporate compliance and commercial dispute resolution for a long time, while the Law School of Tongji University has significant advantages in the research of jurisprudence theory and the cultivation of high-end legal talents, and the cooperation between the two sides has a natural complementary nature.
Mr. Liang Yali proposed that in the future, he hoped to promote cooperation with Tongji University Law School around three major directions: firstly, to jointly carry out practical course teaching; secondly, to jointly build internship and practice bases; thirdly, to cooperate in conducting research on topics, targeting at the forefront areas of criminal defense, legal document reform, etc., and combining the practical problems and theoretical pain points, to jointly produce high-quality research results, so as to provide intellectual support for the construction of the rule of law.
At the end of the exchange, Dean Jiang Huiling expressed his deep hope for the future cooperation between the two sides. He said that Tongji University School of Law has always attached importance to the deep integration of legal theory and judicial practice, and the professional precipitation, practical experience and case resources of Kyoto Criminal Defense Research Center in the field of criminal defense are highly compatible with the college's disciplinary construction and talent cultivation needs, and he expects that the two sides will take this as a starting point to open a regular chapter of academic exchanges and practical cooperation, and work together to inject new momentum into the development of the field of the rule of law in criminal matters. It is believed that through the joint efforts of the two sides, we will create a benchmark example of “collaborative development of institutions” and contribute more to the cultivation of high-quality criminal rule of law talents and the modernization of the criminal rule of law.
