On May 26, 2026, a message went viral in the King&Capital Law Firm WeChat group: a charity fundraiser organized by the Civil and Commercial Department for their colleague, Attorney Zhang, who was ill. In just over a day, the campaign raised more than 250,000 yuan, with 315 colleagues—three-quarters of the firm’s total staff—enthusiastically participating. This fundraiser was the largest charitable initiative in King&Capital Law Firm’s history, leaving every member of the firm feeling deeply touched.

At just 39 years old, Attorney Zhang had been with King&Capital for only two years. Cheerful, diligent, and dedicated, she once completed 100 push-ups during a firm team-building event and was regarded by everyone as an optimistic and resilient “tough woman.” On May 18 of this year, she suddenly fell seriously ill and was diagnosed with a malignant tumor, requiring admission to the ICU. The exorbitant medical costs placed immense financial pressure on her family.
Upon hearing the news, the firm took the matter very seriously. Firm Director Zhu Yonghui and CEO Chu Changzhi visited her immediately and presented a consolation fund. With the support of the firm’s Party Committee, the Civil and Commercial Law Department took the lead in launching a fundraising campaign, which was quickly embraced by the entire firm. Colleagues from the main office and branch offices in Dalian, Shanghai, Nanjing, Zhengzhou, Haikou, Shenzhen, and Chongqing all generously contributed, and the outpouring of kindness grew rapidly.
On the evening of May 27, Zhao Qilong, the managing partner of the Civil and Commercial Law Department, along with others, delivered over 250,000 yuan in donations to Attorney Zhang’s family at the China-Japan Friendship Hospital. Attorney Zhang’s family was moved to tears. This warmth, transcending departmental and geographical boundaries, is the most vivid embodiment of King&Capital’s “family culture.”
For 31 years since its founding, King&Capital Law Firm has consistently upheld the philosophy of “pursuing excellence and living up to the trust placed in us.” Beyond deepening our professional expertise, we have always grounded our work in humanistic care and social responsibility.
