On September 12, the “Special Lecture on Diversified Resolution of Commercial Disputes under the New Arbitration Law,” organized by the Shandong Provincial Arbitration Association and hosted by the Jining Arbitration Commission, was successfully held in Jining. More than 120 participants attended the event in person, including members of the Financial and Insurance Arbitration Professional Committee of the Shandong Provincial Arbitration Association, relevant officials from arbitration institutions within the province, legal affairs directors from local financial institutions and construction companies, and arbitrators from the Jining Arbitration Commission.

Attorney Wang Chunjun, a member of the Management Committee and Senior Partner at King&Capital Law Firm, was invited to deliver a special presentation. Focusing on the “Interpretation (II) of the Supreme People’s Court on Issues Concerning the Application of Law in the Trial of Disputes Arising from Construction Contracts,” which will take effect in 2026, Attorney Wang systematically reviewed key changes in the new interpretation, including its temporal applicability, the validity of bidding and tender contracts, rules on “affiliation” arrangements, the right of subrogation for actual contractors, settlement of construction payments (including adjustments to fixed prices, the validity of settlement agreements, and coordination with audits), and priority rights to payment in construction projects. Drawing on practical challenges in construction arbitration, he provided an in-depth analysis of key dispute resolution issues, such as the arbitral tribunal’s logic in applying the law, the resolution of jurisdictional conflicts, third-party participation in arbitration proceedings, and rules on the preservation of evidence.

Moving forward, King&Capital Law Firm will continue to deepen its expertise in the field of construction and infrastructure legal services. Leveraging the strengths of its specialized team, the firm will provide industry clients with more practical legal solutions to facilitate the efficient resolution of construction disputes.
