The Nation’s First of Its Kind, Unanimously Approved by the Expert Review Panel

The group standard “Basic Requirements for Legal Services in the Exhibition and Convention Industry” was approved for development in April 2026. After undergoing a public comment period and expert review, it was released on July 15, 2026, and will officially take effect on August 15, 2026. Prior to this, a standard review meeting was held in Beijing. Qu Weixi, President of the China Exhibition Economy Research Association, served as the head of the expert review panel, which was composed of authoritative experts including Chu Xiangyin, Xu Zhongwei, Yang Qi, and Liu Haiying. After rigorous review, the panel unanimously approved the standard, focusing on baseline requirements for service quality and industry regulatory guidelines.

The standard primarily regulates the competencies of exhibition and convention legal service providers, the content and procedural norms of such services, as well as the evaluation and improvement of service quality. It applies to both institutions and individuals engaged in providing exhibition and convention legal services. The standard provides an objective basis for all parties involved in exhibition and convention activities to select legal service providers, thereby reducing collaboration risks at the source and supporting the rule-of-law-based and standardized development of China’s exhibition and convention industry.
