King and Capital Held the Seminar with the Topic of “Risk Prevention of Criminal Litigation for International Enterprises in China”

On September 11th, 2013, King and Capital and British Chamber of Commerce in China (Beijing Representative Office of China-Britain Business Council) jointly held the seminar with the topic of “Risk Prevention of Criminal Litigation for International Enterprises in China”.
The aim of this seminar is to explain Chinese current laws and regulations to the international enterprises in China and provide them with advice on the prevention of criminal litigation in China. The seminar attracted nearly 30 foreign enterprises.

Partner of King and Capital, Ms. Catherine Guo and Mr. Edward Huang made speech in this seminar. Mr. Edward Huang introduced King and Capital to the participants at first. Then, Ms. Catherine Guo explained the Chinese laws and regulations relevant to bribery and corruption along with the bribery affairs of pharmaceutical enterprises incurred recently and the relevant cases that King and Capital has engaged in. After that, Mr. Edward Huang provided advice on the practical strategies that the foreign enterprises and foreign executives could take when facing criminal investigation or criminal charge along with the cases he has engaged in.

 

 
During the seminar, the representatives from foreign enterprises raised many questions relevant to the boundary of guilty and not guilty, unit crime and individual crime
 
Mr. Tian Wen-chang, the Honorary Director of King and Capital and the Director of Criminal Legal Affairs Committee under the All China Lawyers Association, and the experienced criminal defense lawyers, Ms. Liang Ya-li and Mr. Zhang Yan-feng answered the questions as well.
