On March 17th, six barristers from the Chamber of XXIV Old Buildings of the United Kingdom, including three Queen’s Counsels (“Q.C.”), visited King&Capital. At the invitation of Ms. Catherine Guo, the Managing Partner of the International Affairs Department of King&Capital, they gave a seminar regarding the hot spots of international arbitration which Chinese lawyers focus on. Over 30 guests were jointly invited to attend the seminar by King&Capital and China Young Arbitration group.

In the international trade, cooperation and investment projects that Chinese Enterprises are involved in, the parties are more inclined to choose arbitration as a way of dispute resolution. English Law is generally chosen as the governing law in international arbitrations, not only because English Law has a long and profound history, which leads to its predictability, b

ut also because the widespread use of English is considered as its advantage. Barristers therefore take an active part in the cross-border dispute resolutions around the world.

The guests of this seminar included specialists from the Beijing Arbitration commission, legal professionals, and legal counsels from group enterprises. The guests communicated and discussed enthusiastically with the Barristers after the seminar.
