Working experience

Since 2007 Jin Yi started to practice in law, specializing in antitrust, anti-unfair competition and intellectual property law. The cases and projects he represented include antitrust litigation, administrative investigation, merger control and compliance consultation.
Before the Anti-Monopoly Law came into effect in 2008, Jin Yi has started to handle merger filings with the Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) and the State Administration for Industry and Commerce (SAIC) in accordance with the Provisions on Merger and Acquisition of Domestic Enterprises by Foreign Investors. Jin Yi has handled nearly 200 merger filings, most of which involve established global companies in pharmaceutical, chemical, shipping, energy, automobile, food, publishing, media, education, sports and other industries.
Jin Yi has represented clients in a number of notable antitrust litigations. He represented Qihoo in the appealing procedure in its antitrust dispute against Tencent, which was heard by the supreme court. The case was selected as guiding case in 2017 by the supreme court.

  • Advising Maersk Line on the China merger control aspects of its acquisition with Hamburg Süd
  • Advising Starbucks on the China merger control aspects of its acquisition with Uni-President
  • Advising an international food company on its antitrust compliance project
  • Advising a domestic pharmaceutical company on its antitrust compliance project
