From May 29 to June 2, a training course for new members of the Central Committee of the Democratic League of China (DLD) was held at the Central Academy of Socialism. Mr. Ding Zhongli, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress and Chairman of the Central Committee of the Democratic League of China, gave a special lecture on the history of the League to the participants. Mr. Wang Guangqian, Vice Chairman of the CPPCC National Committee and Executive Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the CNDL, made an opening speech and delivered a special lecture. Mr. Xie Jingrong, member of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress and Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the CNDL, made a closing speech. Wu Weishan, Deputy Secretary General of the CPPCC National Committee, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the CDPL and Director of the National Art Museum of China, gave a special lecture.

The members who attended the training listened to business lectures on how democratic parties fulfill their functions and play their roles by the leaders of the Central United Front Work Department and relevant comrades from the organs of the Central Committee of the CDPL.

Eighty-three new central committee members of the 13th session of the CDL from across the country attended the training. During the training, Liu Ming and other Central Committee members actively participated in the trainees' forum and group discussions, and had full exchanges and discussions on their own work and how to fulfill their duties as Central Committee members in the new era.
