Dalian Energy and Mining Arbitration Court Officially Established
On March 28, 2024, Dalian International Arbitration Court (DIAC) successfully held the inauguration ceremony of Dalian Energy and Mining Arbitration Court (DEMAC) and a seminar on the theme of investment, trade and dispute resolution in the energy industry. Dalian Energy and Mining Arbitration Court”, the first energy and mining arbitration court in China, was officially established.
The State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of Liaoning, Jilin and Inner Mongolia Provinces, the New Energy Chamber of Commerce of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, experts in the field of energy and mining, and representatives of enterprises and lawyers in related fields nationwide attended the meeting.
Mr. Zhang Libin, Partner-in-Charge of Foreign Affairs Department of Beijing King&Capital Law Firm, Mr. Zhang Qi, Attorney-at-Law, and Mr. Hua Yang, Director of Beijing King&Capital (Dalian) Law Firm, attended this event. Mr. Zhang Libin, as a senior expert in the energy industry and the director of the Expert Committee of the Energy and Mining Arbitration Institute of Dalian Law Firm, participated in the inauguration ceremony and seminar and delivered a speech, while Mr. Zhang Qi made a speech on the dispute resolution of Chinese enterprises' overseas projects and the future development direction of Dalian Law Firm.
In this event, Mr. Zhang Libin pointed out that the development of energy and mining industry needs high-efficiency rule of law guarantee and high-quality legal services, therefore Dalian International Arbitration Court selected and recruited domestic and foreign first-line legal experts in the field of energy and mining to set up Dalian Energy and Mining Arbitration Court, which is aimed at establishing a specialized and diversified dispute resolution mechanism in the field of energy and mining industry, and assisting in the prevention of legal risks and dispute resolution of investment and trade. In addition, Mr. Zhang Libin also made suggestions on the operation mechanism and work planning of the Expert Committee, emphasizing that the Expert Committee will assist in hiring outstanding arbitrators in the energy and mining industry and promote the latest development in this field.
