On May 12th, Xu Ying, Senior Partner of Beijing King&Capital Law Firm, Ou Chunguang, Judge of Beijing Changping District People's Court, and Zhu Jipeng, Prosecutor of Beijing Changping District People's Procuratorate, were invited to participate in the final round of the 11th “King&Capital Cup” Criminal Mock Trial Competition at the China University of Political Science and Law as guests.

Before the competition, all the guests arrived at the competition site in advance and had a comprehensive understanding of the basic case and the competition system.

The competition went through “Prosecution and Defense”, “Proof and Questioning”, “Court Argument”, “Trial Summary”, “Closing Statement” and “Final Statement”. “The final statement” five parts. In the course of the game, the two sides of the team members of the war of words, you and I, the game is very exciting. After the adjournment of the court, the three members of the collegium respectively made detailed scores for the prosecution and defense teams, and deliberated on the winning team and the best debaters of the game. Afterwards, Mr. Li Yuanrui, Prosecutor Zhu Jipeng, Lawyer Xu Ying, and Judge Ou Chunguang commented on the performance of the contestants one after another.

Mr. Li Yuanrui fully affirmed the pragmatic spirit of the students of the University of Law and encouraged them to actively participate in relevant legal competitions and continuously improve their legal ability in practice.

Prosecutor Zhu fully affirmed the full preparation and solid working attitude of the two teams in terms of paperwork, but also pointed out that: in the process of questioning and interrogation, we should avoid leading questions, and at the same time, we should improve the logic and clarity of the group's evidence, so as to achieve the maximization of the function of evidence to build the facts of the case and the argumentation.

Ms. Xu Ying mentioned in her comments that the defense should prepare a comprehensive defense strategy, and at the same time, all the participants should pay attention to exercise their ability to “listen” in the courtroom, and they should distinguish the difference between facts and perceptions, and avoid asking questions about subjective perceptions.

Judge Ou Chunguang pointed out that legal knowledge is the seasoning, and practice is the only way to make a good meal. In the process of proof should be combined with witness testimony, and attention should be paid to the echo and combination of evidence, avoiding a large number of legal and doctrinal citations, so as to make the argumentation brief and powerful.

At around 5:00 pm, the 11th King&Capital Cup Criminal Moot Court Competition Award Ceremony kicked off, with guests and teachers awarding the Champion, First Runner-up, Best Documentation Award, Best Defender and other prizes to the teams and players.

At the end of the award ceremony, Mr. Liu Yiyang, secretary of the Youth League Committee of Criminal Justice College of China University of Political Science and Law, made a closing speech, expressed his thanks to King&Capital Law Firm and all the cooperative units, and congratulated the success of this year's “King&Capital Cup” Criminal Mock Trial Competition.

Finally, the guests, participants and staff took a group photo. Thus, the 11th King&Capital Cup Criminal Mock Trial Competition was successfully completed.
