On the afternoon of April 17, 2025, Beijing King&Capital Law Firm senior partner, Northwest University of Political Science and Law, deputy director of the Institute of Advanced Criminal Defense, Peking University, Dr. Men Jinling was invited to participate in the first PCG Global Intersection of Criminal and Civil Law Forum, which is hosted by Pacific Century Law Firm, and co-sponsored by Pacific Century Global Intersection of Criminal and Civil Law Service Center and the Intersection of Criminal and Civil Law Research Center of the University of Political Science and Law of China. --The first forum was organized by Pacific Century Group (PCCG) and co-hosted by China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL), and focused on the theme of the first module of the forum: Theory and Practice of Criminal-Civilian Intersectional Cases, and delivered a keynote speech on “Substance and Procedure of Criminal-Civilian Intersectional Cases”.


At the beginning of the forum, Mr. Men Jinling combined his own academic experience of nearly 30 years to share the relevant theories that need to be emphasized and easily ignored in criminal-civilian cross-case, so as to prevent bias from the theoretical roots, which may affect the final result. Subsequently, from their own more than ten years of judicial practice, combined with the private economy of criminal-civilian cross-case to reveal the “criminal before civil” and “civil before criminal” on the substantive impact on the outcome of the decision, to elaborate on the core significance of procedural law research on the protection of the right to appeal, for the smooth development of the private economy. The whole sharing session was closely related to the main theme of the forum. It brought another dimension of thinking to the participants.


This forum brings together many experts from judicial practice and scholars and professors from academia, all of whom gather together to study in-depth the legal theory and practice of the intersection of criminal and civil cutting-edge issues.
