The group fan originated in China. It has been spread to Japan, Korea, Thailand and other East Asian regions, and has profoundly influenced the cultural development of the region. In China, the history of the fan can be traced back to at least 3,000 years ago.
Pu fan, bamboo fan and feather fan is the oldest type of fan, both men and women. With the advancement of weaving technology in the Han Dynasty, silk fans flourished at that time and are still circulating in Jiangsu and Zhejiang, and because the craft of making fans for the court reached its peak in the Qing Dynasty, these fans are also known as “Palace Fans”.
Zhuang brocade, known as one of the four famous brocades in China along with Yunjin, Shu brocade and Song brocade, is rumored to have originated in the Song Dynasty and is a cultural treasure of the Chinese nation. As an arts and crafts weaving, Zhuang brocade is one of the most wonderful cultural creations of the Zhuang people and has a very long history. These exquisite crafts, woven using cotton or silk threads, are vividly patterned, structured and colorful, full of warm and cheerful ethnic style, embodying the Zhuang people's worship of heaven and earth and their pursuit and yearning for a better life.
