On the afternoon of June 27, 2025, the “Seminar and Discussion on Major and Complex Cases,” hosted by the Criminal Law Department, was successfully held at Kyoto Law Firm.
The seminar and discussion meeting was presided over by Zang Desheng, senior partner of King&Capital Law Firm, prepared by partner Xu Wei, and lectured by senior lawyers Zhang Luyue and Wang Qi. Tian Wenchang, honorary director of King&Capital Law Firm, part-time lawyers and consultants Li Rong, Yi Bin, and Wang Yichao, senior partners Liang Yali, Zhang Qiming, Xu Ying, Li Zhiguang, partners Yang Haiming, Li Jingyu, An Hongpeng, Xu Ming, and others attended the event.
During the meeting, participants analyzed and discussed two ongoing cases involving bribery and money laundering, sharing their perspectives and engaging in in-depth deliberations from both substantive and procedural angles. The entire process lasted four hours.
In terms of procedural aspects, participants focused on key issues such as the exclusion of illegal evidence, the process of extracting electronic data, recusal, and jurisdiction.
In terms of substantive aspects, participants combined legal provisions, case facts, and practical experience to provide defense strategies for the handling attorneys from multiple angles, including the application of charges, the elements of the crime, and the calculation of amounts.
