On the afternoon of July 19, 2025, Ms. Men Jinling, senior partner of Beijing King&Capital Law Firm, vice president of the Advanced Research Institute of Criminal Defense at Northwest University of Political Science and Law, and doctor of procedural law at Peking University, was invited by the Fujian Provincial Bar Association to give a criminal defense training course entitled “Facts and Legal Dimensions of Criminal Defense” to fellow lawyers from across the province in Quanzhou City.

At the beginning of the lecture, Attorney Men Jinling focused on the most universally applicable theories and professional techniques in criminal defense. The course was divided into four main parts: the three-step method of legal application, the method of clarifying legal issues, the approach to resolving factual issues, and the eternal question for legal professionals—distinguishing between facts and law (norms). At the conclusion of the session, Attorney Men Jinling shared the following reflection with her colleagues: “Let the idealistic light of legal theory illuminate the path of criminal defense practice,” which resonated deeply with the attendees.

This lecture attracted over 200 lawyers from across the province to actively register for participation. Leaders from the Fujian Provincial Bar Association and the Quanzhou City Bar Association attended the event. After the lecture, the lawyers expressed that Attorney Men Jinling's teaching style felt like returning to a graduate-level law school classroom, significantly enhancing the theoretical foundation of Fujian lawyers and laying a solid foundation for future criminal defense and the effective protection of clients' legitimate rights and interests.
