In May 2026, King&Capital Law Firm was officially selected for the Korea Intellectual Property Protection Agency (KOIPA) Overseas IP Center’s roster of law firms to provide intellectual property agency and legal services. King&Capital Law Firm has now signed a framework agreement with the KOIPA Beijing Representative Office, enabling it to provide intellectual property and legal services to Korean companies seeking legal, patent, and trademark services through KOIPA.
This project was bid on jointly by the Korea Practice Team of King&Capital’s Antitrust Department and dual-qualified attorneys. The bidding team consisted of partners Jin Yi, Cui Huilian, and Song Yuehua, as well as dual-qualified attorneys Jin Fenghua and Yang Yi (dual-qualified attorneys hold both attorney and patent agent qualifications).
KOIPA is a key agency under the Ministry of Intellectual Property (MOIP) of South Korea, and its core mission is to comprehensively protect and safeguard the intellectual property rights of South Korean companies in both domestic and international markets. To effectively support South Korean companies’ “going global” strategy, KOIPA focuses specifically on export-oriented small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and mid-sized companies that have expanded into more than 40 countries and regions worldwide, providing them with one-stop, comprehensive services covering the entire intellectual property lifecycle. These services cover multiple key areas, including but not limited to professional consulting on overseas intellectual property strategy and risk management; legal advice regarding infringement or enforcement matters; practical assistance with the application processes for patents, trademarks, and other intellectual property rights; strategic guidance for addressing international intellectual property disputes; and timely, accurate updates on intellectual property systems and developments in various countries.
To further align with the Chinese market and strengthen its service capabilities for Korean companies operating in China, KOIPA has established two regional intellectual property service centers in China—the Beijing Intellectual Property Center and the Guangzhou Intellectual Property Center—providing efficient, convenient, and language-barrier-free professional support to relevant enterprises through localized teams.

Moving forward, the King&Capital service team will continue to uphold a highly professional, systematic, and client-centric service philosophy. Guided by King&Capital’s core mission of “pursuing excellence and living up to the trust placed in us,” the team will fully leverage its deep expertise and extensive practical experience in the field of intellectual property law to continue providing KOIPA and the many Korean enterprises it represents with efficient, precise, and compliant intellectual property legal services tailored to their specific needs.
